Korean Streetstyle

I’m constantly exposed to fashion inspired by K-Pop, and lately my style seems to be gravitating towards that way. If you want to know how to dress like your favorite K-Pop idols, here’s some tips, read on! You need nice shoes – They don’t have to be expensive, but high heels aren’t only for fancy occasions in Korea. I’d opt for heel pumps for summer and quality/clean sneakers or boots for cooler weathers. Having the shoes down can set a good foundation for your Korean styling. No revealing tops! – It’s rare to catch cleavage (or even shoulders!) in Korean fashion, it’s simply not fit for their culture, instead they prefer more modest and cutesy tunics. But, they do embrace bold colors, which are eye-catching in a different way. Short shorts/skirts – Don’t shy away from showing off your legs! Your favorite K-pop idols likely embrace matching short shorts/skirts with bomber jackets or sweaters. Who says fashion has to be season/temperature friendly? Slaying Make-up – I know I don’t need to say much here, Korea slays when it comes to make-up and skincare. The signature …

More on Asymmetry

The sweater is a gift from my aunt while I was on vacation in China. Needless to say I love everything about it. If you read my earlier post featuring asymmetry, this is an addition to the collection – asymmetrical sleeves. Enjoy 🙂 Hope you liked the look! (:

Superstars

Adidas Superstars – a notable piece of childhood, and sneakers that killed the heels.  We’ve been pretty crazy over Stan Smiths, but the hype has found its way to Stan’s fabulous big brothers. Somehow the bright white, the thick soles, and the 3 black lines just make perfect sense. Also, I have to admit as much as I love heels, I somehow always end up cheating my way out of them by finding such comfortable alternatives. I’ve made peace with the fact that I grow older faster than I become wiser, so I like to embrace youthful vibes while I still can, and tend to gravitate towards city inspired sporty chic looks, like this one. The interesting thing about fashion is that it is  dangerously contagious. A couple years back, a nice dress paired with sneakers would be heavily ridiculed for lack of taste and class. And look how far we’ve come, along the high fashion runways, along celeb endorsements, and along local fashion bloggers that inspire everyday fashion. Can you remember why we thought what we love today was ridiculous? Because fashion …

Super Casual

I’ve not yet expressed this, but I take every opportunity to avoid pants 😛 They are just so limiting! Now because of that, I am very much into casual looks with long sweaters or tees that can be worn as dresses. To me they are much more comfortable than your most stylish jeans. Here’s a basic long hoodie from Forever 21 in color grey, matched with my white Zooshoo sneakers. It’s a perfect look for gloomy & windy summer days, and the comfort is to die for! I am into unique accessories, and obsessed with the color gold this season. This bracelet ring is form Aldo for about $20, I fell in love instantly after seeing it. Here are some more shots of this look. Hope you liked this simple look!

Colors of Spring

Weather in Toronto has been switching between summer and spring for the month of May. It has been raining a lot in the past weeks, so it’s safe to say that it’s still spring 🙂 Some people call Spring the awkward in between season, because you can’t fully say goodbye to your sweaters, but you can’t bust out your summer wardrobe either. So I decided to put together an outfit that accommodates this weather. Top – From an Asian boutique, it’s wool & cotton material, which keeps me warm from occasional chilly breeze, but at the same time it’s light in color and also sleeveless, making it a piece more suited for warmer seasons. I love the ruffles around the neckline, dressing up the top! Skirt – I avoided summer skirts made of silk or light cotton material, and wore a faux leather skirt which adds an element of weight to the outfit, making it more appropriate for this in between season. Stockings – As an attempt to stay warm, I wore black stockings with about medium level of sheerness. Shoes – …

Ripped Denim

I adore ripped jeans. I’m not saying the ripper the better, but there’s just something fab about them when wore “correctly” (meaning ripped to whatever degree that suits you). They are starting to become basics for my wardrobe. They can be paired with almost any top, shirt, sweater and it’ll look good! To me it adds an edgy and sexy touch to every outfit.  Depending on the feel you’re going for, pair them with high heels, flats or sneakers – it all works! I’m mostly into light colored denim, and among that category below are the 3 types I like: Long skinnys – this is classic, easy to match – sneakers, heels whatever you like. I don’t need to share how to wear this, I’m sure you already know 🙂 Loose and high cut – this requires confidence! it doesn’t accentuate figure or anything like that, but it is so stylish! – super “in” this season. Just wear heels if you feel like it enlarges the bottom! (But make sure it’s pumps! Wedges won’t work here) Shorts – OK, …

Shades of Grey

Recently years the trend of vibrant colors for clothes, bags and shoes has been around and everywhere! We’ve been trying to deviate away from the neutral “boring” colors that were once prevailing. But here I want to show some love for one of my favorite colors – grey. ❤ Grey is a simple color, yet you’d stand out from the crowd given the right combination. Take a look at the images below – if you see someone in these outfits, wouldn’t you notice them right away? And given how simple it is, it just screams benefits of minimalism. What’s powerful about this color, is that you can layer, mix and match different shades of grey, and rock it hard – Give it a try! It may not sound applicable but you’d be amazed at the result! And of course, it goes exceptionally well with black and white.

Cute Or Legit?

My lovely followers! This is an outfit I find super cute! You must have all seen the look where dress shirts are worn under a sweater, except it is most commonly found among men’s fashion, as a casual look for work, etc. It is totally underrated for women! Three things I like about the outfit: Color combination – light blue works great with black! Sweater – It is a big sweater! I am a sucker for those; and not to mention the big heart on the sweater, it is super Asian, but I love it. The shoes – although it looks simple, but it screams adorable to me! It’s very round all over, very loose/roomy around the ankle (which gives an illusion of thinner calves), and has built in platforms – what’s not to love?
